Thursday Evening

Snowmobile, sled, or skate to a great evening as Women in Blue Jeans kicks off its 11th Annual Conference January 16th at the Highland Conference Center from 5 to 9 p.m.

We’ll have a blizzard of booths with literature, samples and activities to showcase South Dakota products.  Learn how our check-off money is spent and how these organizations impact our rural economy.  There will be a special chef’s presentation to help us ‘beef-up’ our boring menus.  The “Fitting Room” will also be featured by three clothing vendors who will have samples, models and information on how to fit your own "Unique" style.

This year’s shopping extravaganza will be extra "Unique" since only hand-made items will be featured.

Friday

Friday will be a day of learning, connecting and sharing. The morning will be started with registration and breakfast at 8am.  During the day we will cover food preservation, identity theft, the role of women in South Dakota, fast crisis reporting, niche farm, apps for your mobile device.  Amanda Nolz will be the luncheon speaker, "Real Housewives of Rural America."

What's New this Year?

Invention Contest

New to WIBJ is our "Invention Contest".  Please send a picture of your invention with a short explanation of how to use the invention and how it came to be created.  This can be a totally new invention or an ingenious new use for an existing item.  Attendees will vote on the best invention and the winner will be announced at the Friday luncheon.

There will be prize drawing for past attendees who bring a friend new to WIBJ.

"Snowball Bucks" will be given at registration to spend at the Thursday Evening shopping extravaganza. You will need to register before December 28th, 2013 to receive "snowball bucks."

So, bundle up and help us celebrate the winter season by sharing a special hot drink and tantalizing hors d'oeuvres as you enjoy the exhibits.  There will be time to network with old and new friends as we celebrate “Uniquely You” Women in Blue Jeans.
